Bull Fighting:

Bullfighting is considered an art form as much as a sport; the leading matadors are national celebrities and there are fights most days on TV. A bullfight begins with a horseback procession, or Corrida, followed by the fight tself; the bull is softened up by picadores and then the matador moves in for the kill. Many foreigners detest the spectacle - but it is undoubtedly an important aspect of Spanish culture.

Trotting is a form of racing in which the jockey sits in a small cart behind the horse and must prevent the horse from breaking into a gallop. It has been popular in Mallorca and Menorca for at least 200 years. If you go to a race meeting, remember that betting is an essential part of the process.

  Note:

Looking After Children:
Small children are particularly vulnerable to sun and need to be well protected: apply high-factor sun block regularly, especially after swimming. If you need a child seat in your rented car, be sure to book it in advance and then check it carefully on arrival. The same goes for cots and high-chairs in hotels and apartments. Finally, don't forget to check that your balcony railings are secure.
