Note:

Menu and Tips: Most restuarants server a 'menu del dia' at lunchtime which will usually work out much cheaper. It is normal practice to add about 10% to the bill as a tip.

A Warning: Opening hours change frequently, and many restuarants take an annual holiday in winter. It is always a good idea to telephone before setting out.

Tapas: are a Spanish institution. Originally a free 'lid' (tapa) of ham across a drink, nowadays they consist of small portions of everything from octopus to olives. Locals eat tapas before going out to eat, but several portions can make an unusual meal in itself. The best place to eat tapas in Mallorca is in the area around La Llotja in Palma.
