Mallorca a paradise for cyclists

Bahia de Pollensa.

Points of interest: The sea scenery all along Pollença Bay is absolutely stunning. On arrival at Pollença, we suggest you ride around the town, make the ascent to Puig de Maria and visit the Calvary. In the walled town of Alcúdia, look at the Roman ruins of Pollentia and the Roman amphitheatre.

Itinerary: Alcúdia-Puerto (add de Pollença-Pollença-Alcúdia. From Pollença the itinerary may be extended by carrying on up to Formentor.

Distance: 25 Kms., 40 Kms. if we choose to continue up to the scenic viewpoint of Formentor and 33 kilometres to reach Cala Sant Vicenç.

Difficulty: This is a very simple excursion on relatively flat ground.

Route: The excursion commences in Alcúdia, from where we will head towards the port of Pollença. Following the eight kilometres which run round the bay of Pollença we will reach the port. Those who are more accustomed to cycling excursions may visit Formentor or at least carry on to the scenic viewpoint of Colomer, since the ride uphill is difficult. To continue the excursion we will head in the direction of Pollença and just short of two kilometres before we arrive we can choose to go down to the Cala de Sant Vicenç. Following the itinerary we will reach Pollença and after passing a sign indicating the direction towards Palma. we will notice a turn oti to the left which will take us to Alcúdia along a small road after another 10 Kms. of cycling.
